long summer days and warm summer nights

seven days back in brissie and i've already read all the books i brought back with me:

george rr martin's a feast for crows - a pretty decent addition to his epic series, although the fact that he's decided to leave half of the narrators out and put them in the next book is slightly annoying. this guy writes intrigue so well... and most of his characters are interesting and complex, just like real people.

raymond e feist's flight of the the nighthawks - considering what this guy has done in the past (the riftwar saga), this is a pretty crappy effort. the writing and character depth leaves a lot to be desired. he does write magical concepts and scenery pretty well though.

kill as few patients as possible by oscar london - an interesting and lighthearted read. worth a look if you are a recently graduated med student, sitting under a tree under a hot sun, a cold beer in hand, and half an hour to kill.

and finally, slaughterhouse 5 by kurt vonnegut. what to say about this thought disordered narrative about a guy writing a book on the annihilation of dresden? there is the rambling, disorganised speech. there is the flight of ideas. i don't really get it yet. i think i'll have to read it again before i decide if i like it.

other than the books, the burgers, the hot hot sunshine, and hanging out with kimmy last night - it's just sleep, sweet sleep. dragging out today and waiting for tomorrow.
