retrospective post

after stan's wedding there was a great reception at a place called george's. there was a bar tab but i couldn't take advantage of the beautiful beverages or the gorgeous bar staff. zipped up with some redbull and coke instead, talking to lou mostly, and caught up with jackie. brumbles and carolyn looked like they were up to no good. surprise surprise!

barbeque at gal's was pretty chill. we completely fucked up the food, so we had to eat most of it before the girls came out and found out how incompetent we were. of course they didn't understand our noble and self-sacrificing motives and complained that we were inconsiderate bastards. pfft, silly girls...

and then, lunch with the coolest group of people in the universe. group a rocks!

goddam! what have we here...?

omg it's snags from hell!

and what are these... things? (hint: they used to be chicken wings)

the espy

i had a busy weekend. now i'm really tired. but i wanted to jot down a few words about the sense of contentment i felt on saturday morning, because they are so rare:

11am. the sun was out. big breakfast at the espy kitchen. after a good night of pub crawling and good music with dunno. people watching while i devoured a mountain of bacon and eggs and little sausages.

that warm fuzzy feeling in my chest. *sigh*

raging against the night/light

ten things that tell me summer is here:

10. i've finally gone through a night in ballarat with my heater turned off,
9. the shimmering on the bitumen as i walk to work in the morning,
8. christmas is just around the corner,
7. all my patients are on subcutaneous or intravenous fluids,
6. lake wendouree is now completely dry,
5. skirts are out again - fuck yeah!
4. there is more icecream than food in our fridge,
3. the smoke hanging over ballarat from nearby bushfires,
2. even more water restrictions,
1. the beer after work is tasting better every day.

on call again this weekend. kimmy is in town. stan's wedding next weekend. gal's barbeque. wicked wednesday. christmas do's. all of us madly rushing towards the end of the year, the end of our intern year. rock!
