the southwest

it was really hard to leave perth. exciting things to do and interesting places to go kept popping up! cat and mark were fantastic hosts. we went people watching, sailing, surfing and kite surfing. we cooked up feasts at home (including a recreation of our trans-siberian experience), tried different beers down at freo and had lunch on william street pretty much every day - gal and i were insatiable in our quest for real asian food after so long in the wilderness...

when we finally hit the road again, it was towards margaret river to explore the famous region between cape naturaliste and cape leeuwin. good wines of course, but a good handful of excellent breweries too, together with a very chilled out vibe made for a very pleasant few days... before the rain set in, and we headed east towards the great southern forests.
